Well, I can't say enough nice things about Adam's gauges. Lets see if I can do an official review, although its not rossa, its the nutz version.
Packaging:
I don't have any pictures, but I can echo OP's comments. Packaging came in an envelope with cardboard and bubble wrap to help prevent any bending as well as stamps all over saying not to bend. (But you'd be lucky if the postal service even pays attention to that)
I love the fact that Adam took the time to include gloves. Shows how much he cares about his products, and wants to insure proper installation.
Installation:
I've done my fair share of gauge installations. So I know the proper procedures to get it just right. Adam made a step by step installation guide with informative and detailed pictures. VERY helpful for those that are doing this for the first time. He had some tips that I never really realized.
Its a straight forward installation, though I did have to do some trimming to the cluster due to having a my gauge's ZERO start at six o' clock setting. But nothing to difficult.
Just take your time with it. Don't want to mess up the nice matte finish by being careless.
Design:
This is exactly what I was looking for in some gauge faces. I was actually pretty bummed out when Adam decided to take a breather during his first stint as a gauge face customizer, because I wasn't sure if he'd ever come back.
Its a nice simple design, that had three things I wanted most. Six o' clock zero start, a vintage feel, and yellow/red graphic for the red line. The amber back lighting is very soothing. I think I'll be switching out all of the green bulbs to amber in the future. The matte finish has a very OEM feel to it.
The gauge faces I recieved looked hand cut. Not a minus point, as it did not negatively affect the fitment. I wouldn't have minded cutting it myself. But glad that I can just receive them and do very little prep work to get them in the car.
This is probably the only negative I can think of with this. But its a very, very, VERY tiny nitpick that is not entirely the fault of the gauges. I installed the Nutz version gauges with my K.G. Works cluster, and I found it a bit of a visual overload in my cluster. Lots of details that were right in my face. I was able to quickly get used to it though.
Price:
I think $100 is way too cheap considering Adam designs, prints, glues, cuts, and ships these gauges all on his own... in his spare time.
Overall:
I was contemplating getting the AWD gauge, and was close to dropping the money for it. Luckily Adam came out at the most opportune time.
I'm definitely happy with my purchase. I wish Adam had a sticker designed so I can represent his products. And to help his products stand out just a bit more.
I give his gauges an easy
A+ rating.
Pictures:
Right after installing, but still in the process of placing the needles.
