Hello, I have been wanting a GripROYAL.com steering wheel for a while and finally jumped the gun and ordered a NRG slim hub and a white with black center wheel (with royal etched in it). I have been talking to GripROYAL for a while and the customer service was so awesome that I decided I would buy a wheel off of them. Shipping was very fast everything was packed well and they even remembered to put in extra stickers in my favorite color that I asked for!

Initial impressions:
Quality was great, very sturdy, paint appeared to be great and I wanted to get it in as fast as possible! Installation was pretty basic, just like installing any other wheel and the NRG hub was awesome, very slim so with a quick release it would be absolutely perfect with this deep dish wheel.

Finished thoughts:

Love this wheel, absolutely awesome looking, sturdy, and the customer service is AWESOME.
Pictures:

I can do a video of me pulling and pushing on wheel if needed, also can take more detailed images if you want.

Heres a review on the new leather wheel.

First off, I noticed this wheel seems to be a little more flimsy than the older wheel the other you couldnt really find any flex in the wheel but in this leather wrapped wheel it has a LITTLE bit of flex, now before you say I wouldnt buy this wheel, in all honesty its not bad at all its not noticeable when driving, and I gaurentee I wont notice it when my track my car. But its worth noting.

Now the quality of the wheel is awesome, the feel is great. stitching seems solid but dosnt look to be the best, I took some close up pics of it for you to make your own decision. Its what I would expect in a ~$150 wheel. I LOVE this wheel and it feels great! I am very happy with it and glad to say its a much better experience than my first wheel from them which was a defected wheel.

I would like to say that grip royal handled my defected wheel with such great customer service that it blew me away. Since it is my daily driver wheel they sent out the replacement first and let me send my wheel after I installed the new one! Now onto the pics:]

Overall its a great looking wheel as you can see.

As you can see the stitching is good, but in some areas dosnt look like it would hold up to years of hard use.

The texture of the leather is awesome! Feels great in your hands!

The center is great, the stitches around the 3 "spokes" arnt the best and thats the only area on the wheel where I was not impressed with.

I love this wheel in my car :)

Post up pics:D I think I saw your car on the fb page actually.

Thanks for the review! I was considering one of these wheels myself.
The customer service and company is just awesome, great people to deal with.

Nice! These wheels look really nice and well made. I was contemplating this one or a Mooneyes wheel. Guess I'll be going with the GR. Good review!
I have never heard of mooneyes, I was between a GripROYAL and a momo, I really like the deep dish look though and with the short NRG hub its at a very nice distance.

I am just worried about the durability of the paint....when getting out my right side rubs up against the wheel, and when I am at a track day what if I go to take off my helmet and it scrapes up against the wheel, or if I wear gloves in winter ? It shouldnt have scratched that easily at all..

Agreed 100% its a pretty big scratch:/ And its chipping the clear coat away around it so I am going to put a sticker over it just to prevent it from going further.

Wheels should be able to take a beating my socket litearly just rubbed up against it during the fall:/

Mine has been adding some flare to my bedroom floor for about 6 months now.....lol. I have been waiting on my hub for like 64,503 years now. Evasive Motorsports said it was on a 6-8 week backorder like 5 months ago :fp:

Wow...ahha I think its about time to ask for a refund and get one somewhere else.

Sexy though almost did that exact color combo. Your car will for sure pull that wheel off so good, id suggest some gold (matching ur wheels) allen bolts ;)
lol already got that covered. I have Baller Bolts gold titanium hardware sitting at home with the wheel for when the damn hub ever decides to arrive.

I was trying to be more in-depth but sadly with a broken computer its sorta a PITA to upload many pics using my moms work computer. But I love the wheel have been using it for 2 days now and it is great.

From what I can see from the pictures, quality looks pretty decent, and they're price is quite decent as well. I might just have to purchase one of these one day and give it a try. Thanks for the review.
Agreed 100% !

i'm tempted to pick one up
do it!

they don't have choices on dish, right?
only 2"?
nothing shallow?
I think 2" is all they have.

seems to be about it. i'm lookin into their custom order colors though. apparently they can color match to your car lol
Yup add them on fb and send them a message they can do just about anything!

If I try really hard theres like 2mm-6mm of flex, BARELY noticable when trying hard. Theres no doubt in my mind this wheel is strong enough for any form of track/drift use. I myself will be using it on the track and I trust it fully.

The only thing I dont trust as of now is the durability of the paint:fp:... A new smaller scratched appeared on the wheel today...I litearlly babied this wheel after the first and so I dont know what to say about it. I have talked to GripROYAL and they said that the paint needs time to cure, I wish I had the patience to let it sit around for 2-3 weeks before I put on my car.

holy ****, I was looking for something exactly like this for such a long time, couldn't find anything, and ended up buying a wood grain nardi. looks like the nardi is going up for sale :D
Ebay nardis are junk youll love this wheel:)
