Recently was enticed by the new delrin bushings for the window sliders. Much like just about every product that this guy advertises, there is always some sort of cheapness, false advertising, or just bad business involved.
Due to the lack of communication from RSpeed on this subject, I've found these exact delrin bushings on ebay for half price. In otherwords, the same price with free shipping. I wouldn't put this on blast if I didn't feel clearly ignored on the shipping rate inquiries, and to justify my complaint the bushings weighing in at only several grams on a scale and fitting into an express envelope.
Dropping the ball on this "new product". Not the first time RSpeed lost my business though. Took over 2 months to refund me on an IL Motorsports console about a year ago which was listed in stock and was never really provided an explanation for that. Good thing another vendor (www.GoMiata.com props!) was there with the parts in stock.
Ive ordered through Rspeed like 10 times. Never had a problem. You could call and email them if something was really a big problem, and in sure that Joe, Hector or Alex would be able to take care of you..
Oh I did, especially on the subject of the console back when. I'm just overall a bit disappointed with the communication.
Gomiata isn't flawless either, they just happened to be on the ball when RSpeed wasn't, and it's common knowledge to all types of business that no news is typically good news, but bad news sticks hard.
With all that said, I'm sure local business is fine, and I'm sure they have their pros. I'm just giving my review from a previously unbiased customer. I wouldn't have attempted business if I had some sort of hatred for the guys. That's why I'm just posting in reviews.
So you're bitching about pricing and refund turnaround? You already voted with your wallet about that price, no need to whine here. That IL console may be a drop ship item which IL dropped the ball on. Basically there's nothing here but a little inconvenience to you. You never got screwed. Joe has personally bent over backwards for me for really trifling reasons on my end to make sure I was satisfied. RSpeed deserve better than for you to try to drag them through the mud over what amounts to nothing.
I've ordered probably about $1k worth of stuff from RSpeed and never had a problem. Yeah their shipping prices can suck, but this ain't Ebay you're supporting a company that supports the Miata community.
I've also order a few times from gomiata. I think my parts actually arrived at my door once...
Not saying your experience didn't suck, but I'd say you just got the worst of RSpeed and the best of gomiata. Some seriously bad luck man.
Am I reading this right, Rspeed in the bad and GoMiata in the good, what da fak?
I had an issue with their spark plug wires and they sent me a brand new set free of charge. I've also ordered many other things from them. Their awesome in my book! :haiguyths:
Are we sure it's the same Rspeed? The OP thinks that it's in Florida - maybe he is talking about another company?
I also fail to fully comprehent the complaint - is it that they don't offer free shipping in the bushings?
At the end of the day it's very wrong to say that you had another bad experience because the final price of one item it's not as low as the best ebay price.
The OP clearly has problems other than any vendor of Miata parts. If you don't like the price of something, go somewhere else. Likewise if you cannot find a part somewhere, go somewhere else. No need to try to put down a good vendor with an excellent reputation just because they can't or wont go along with unreasonable demands. If you (OP) have any valid complaints, call RSpeed and we'll take care of it, we always have.
In today's times finding the most bang for your buck is important . That said I've purchased thru RSpeed directly over the years Joe and Hector go out of their way in supporting the Miata community. If members don't support the venders we won't have them and then we will have nothing but fleabay oops I mean EBay. Yes sometimes it may cost a few bucks more but I'd purchase from somebody I know that supports enthusiasts, knows their products vs who knows who trying to make a quick dollar . Sorry about your experience but knowing Joe and Hector its really hard to believe, so I will continue to support RSpeed.. I hope you can work out your issue.
I bought some Delrin guides from Rspeed and got them fast. Best part about them? They are round and work properly. I first bought a teflon set from the guy on m.net who sells a kit for $31. Damn things made my glass rattle. Pulled out the window and the damn guides were not round. Email the seller and paid shipping for a second set - they were out of round too. Had to buy the Rspeed guides to get a pair that don't make the windows rattle.
Old thread, but i've ordered from rspeed and gomiata. Never had a problem either way.. Whoever has what i'm looking for in stock or cheaper, is usually the one getting my loot.
I've ordered several times from RSpeed. They sent me an NA fuel filter for my NB, sent me the right one and made it super easy to return the wrong one. Great customer service!
