Occationally my heart rules my head and this was one of these occations :? I managed to get hold of a set of genuinely rare WORK CR-01 wheels same as mine. Only problem is they are curbed damaged and even bent so ive got my work cut out. Here's some thats been refurbed in red.

And a few sets in original silver.

And of course mine that i refurbed in black

Here's the kinda damage i'm dealing with. Horrible chunks outa the rim

After i had dissembled them they looked like this.

Here you can see the silver coatings all but come off, but what colour to refurb them in.........?????

First the curbed bent lips needed attention so i found this firm locally.
http://www.starweld.co.uk/ They were able to straighten and weld the damage up and then grind it back down. Picked them up today.

Looking a bit better but there's still scratches/marks to deal with so the next step is to decide on the finish. It appear that the set on my car have been refurbed in the past as those lips have been diamond cut but these haven't. Another alternative is just to get and polish them or even powdercoated lips. Not sure yet but i'll keep you updated. 8)

That is a classic wheel, pretty nice.

Those look very close to the Work Meiters like the ones I have in silver. I'd love to change the color too...

I am a little confused. Do you have two sets of these wheels? The first set you got were originally silver and then you refinished them in black? And now you have a 2nd identical set that are in need of refurbishment? Are you planning to keep them for yourself or sell them for a profit? It seems kind of silly to have two sets finished identically. I think either silver with polished lip or fully polished face and lip are the way to go.
