Another enduro win for Team 949 Racing
E2 winners and very nearly won PT overall. We backed off at the end to conserve fuel but were just behind and gaining on the overall PT winner, a factory sponsored Scion. William (bellwilliam) and I were the drivers. John (Satisaii) and Mike (Aus Rotten) our awesome crew. These guys are like pros and make our team complete. ![]() ![]() William driving here

Judging from the dark areas on the rotor, I'd guess that's only about 1000° and the pads are rated for 1650°. They work flawlessly.
1000°+ rotor temps are common for track days and wheel to wheel racing. Many street pads have MOT's (Maximum Operating Temperature) of less than 1000° so one should choose carefully. A cheap popular street sport pad is the Hawk HPS 750° MOT and HP Plus 850° MOT. The Carbotech 1521 we recommend for street users is 800°. Carbotech AX6 and XP race pads have MOT's from 1200° to 1950° depending on compound. Running any pad right at it's MOT for extended periods greatly increases pad wear. Running a higher temp pad and/or adding functional brake ducts will greatly increase pad life. The RP2's we were testing have a bit less modulation and more rotor wear than the XP10/XP8 combo we usually run but will last almost twice as long. The higher rear friction of the RP2/RP2 combo is taking some getting used to so me we might end up switching to RP2/XP10 or something. We're always focused on getting our game together for the 25 hours of Thunderhill in December so that's why we tested the RP2's. |

Just a mild NA build 94 block (not sure if I'll use stock pistons or go with aftermarket high comp pistons) 99 head (port matched and cleaned up a bit), 01 usdm intake manifold, msm intake cam, and mspnp. I'd like to get at least 140-150 whp...

No reason not to go high compression. Supertechs are 84mm which give you another 45cc of displacement. Some engine builders can open up an OEM head gasket to allow the 85.5mm Supertechs, which basically makes it a 2.0L (1952cc). Otherwise, you need a Maruha 86mm gasket at $150.
