i believe that the BRG's aren't a "numbered sequence" special edition. they started that with the 93 LE's.

Actually they just so happen to be, I have a factory brochure for the 91 Brg and all Brgs cam with a ash tray with a # plate of your car and your name. It isnt seen very much due to many owners keeping the ash tray, and not many Original owners are left. My car is a 1 owner car but I bought it off of a used car lot. I didnt have the advantage of getting to talk to the owner. I have the carfax on the car as well as the previous owners address. But I didnt want to come off stalker like trying to get that info about the car.

I used to think that the last 4 numbers were the number in sequence... but that would make mine 4950 which isn't correct since there were less than 4000 made. Best bet is to contact the guys at the registries or call the dealer and run the VIN. I'd register mine but it's not exactly a pure LE any more.

I emailed Mazda and got my #...

"Hello Jessica,

Thank you for contacting Mazda!

I am happy to see you are aware that this is a limited production vehicle. Currently, we do not have any way of providing you with a replacement plaque but we have the ability to access the information. Upon researching your request I found that your specific Mazda Miata is production number 1,581 out of 4,000 made.

If you have any further questions, please don?t hesitate to contact me.

Regards,

Michael M.

This is who I emailed my VIN to:
