That's why Caterham make regular and wide body (SV) versions of their cars. A friend of mine is "making" a Morgan Plus8 and fixing all its flaws in the process. One of his mods was to widen the cockpit 4 inches to make the car more comfortable. I know Mitsuoka is a custom coach builder but I wonder if they'd be willing/able to widen the car to fit. Maybe it just looks cramped because race seats are supposed to hug you tight?

Edit: ooops I meant Caterham not Westfield

Funny thing is when you've got a Westfield alongside a Caterham, it just doesn't hold a candle to the "real" thing. Westfields have such poor, naff detailing.

I guess from the number of chins this guy had/has, hes just a tad tubby.
yep, westfields are NASTY imo ... crude square tube frame with poorly executed abs bodywork/interior/details - I am not madly keen on the mk3 mx5 but when you compare it to a properly finished and specced westfield I will take the mazda EVERY day - it will cost less and it won't look like a faded track day plaything in 6 months of real use either ! have you ever seen the hood on a westfield ? it makes the M2-0128 hood cover look positively luxurious !!!

kit/component cars are meant to be cheap , why would you spend months building something that ends up more expensive and FAR less refined than a production car - far better modify a roadster
