I gotta ask a question that no one seems able to answer, was there ever a supercharged MX5 that was avaliable new off a mazda dealers showroom floor.

Not from the factory. It's reasonable to think that a dealer might stick a jackson kit or something on a "dealer special" that they think they might be able to charge more for.
Mazdaspeed kit that was owner fitted, or fitted after sale, never comes with the bulkhead badge. Instead, there will be a "Mazdaspeed Sports Tuning" badge.
Thanks for all your input so far guy's. Why the question? well in Australia we had a locally produced turbo NB MX5 called an SP, although it was made by an outside firm it was avaliable through the Mazda Dealer Network and had a Mazda warranty . Enough were made to homologate them for racing in Australia under production sports car.
So the question was ,if there were factory fitted superchargers that were Mazdaspeed or mazda dealer delivered and the numbers were 100 plus than they would make a great track weapon.
The aussie made SP is listed and used in the class, I would love to run my NA supercharged one against them.
you can under the rules produce a replica , but there must be an 100 originals .
why did I supercharge and inetcool my track car , cause I could and it is the best addition I have made to the car so far and it has heaps of mods but none as much fun as the charger.

Well, I don't know exactly how many Stage 3 Mazdaspeeds were made, but I suspect there is a good deal more than 100; they appear fairly regularly in the UK as imports. Information I have is that 200 1.6 and 1.8 cars were produced.
hey Roadsternut
Care to put some of that infomation in more detail on this thread
and to Mr Doppelganger the Sp turbo were the work or a MR Alan Horsley who was a well renound race car builder using parts made in OZ and genuine Mazda items around 100 of these were made so that the could be homologate for motorsport in Australia , if you visit some OZ websites its an interesting story how they came about. plenty still around and quite a few for sale but they do demand a premium dollar .

Interestingly, in the UK, insurance companies treat B-spec Roadsters the same as the BBR; ie. they consider it factory converted and apply no additional loading.
