Ok well seems like we're a growing breed here lately, time for our own thread to not whore out the others.

Feel free to post pix/mods/ or just discuss 10AE's

^^ you two roomates?

I love my 10ae but love msm's too, yet to ride in one, Verwah's will prolly be the my first lol

I need to get sideskirts and my fog fixed (in process) and a front lip (maybe GV) to get mine back up to PAR.

First coming is a drop then a bar though. Cosmetics aren't top of my list but i'd like to at least get it up to spec.

some random pix:

look once dropped

Winter mode:

My buddy driving mine w/his girl, he was sold immediately lol

yeah he's my roommate lol. I was driving one of these

and then he sent me Miata pictures EVERY day until I had to buy one

for the price diff you can boost it yourself :blaugh:

MSM's have more rigidity, better suspension, little heavier, 10AE's have a little friendly gear ratio, aren't really any better than any other 99 NB w/6spd and Torsen though other than the anniv. perks (gift set if you're lucky, rareish blue,

I just like how simple and pure the 10AE is. There's no need for more power, it's tons of fun :)

-- and yeah, I sent him hundreds of emails with awesome Miata photos and even let him carve the canyons in my MSM to torture him. It worked! Now if our neighbours didn't question our sexuality because of the one miata in the garage, there's two :fab::woolery:

I can't comment on that, as I have Star Specs and H&R race springs.. and we live in downtown Phoenix, you have to drive an hour to find roads that have any curves at all. I'm interested in seeing how the lighter weight feels.

I think a trip to the canyons with both cars and a midway driver swap is in order

Oh man! Just the thread I have been waiting for! :D
I have a slew of pics of mine, but here are some of the better ones ;)

And I need to get a better pic of the 10AE badge lol this was the first day I owned the car

I personally think that no miata has the uniqueness of the 10AE.
In south texas at least, theres so few of them, that when you actually do see one, you freak out and point and chase it like a maniac XD
In its stock form, it completely blows any other stock miata out of the water, except for the MSM's i'd say.
But the Mazda tradition was really carried over well into the 10AE and implemented flawlessly.
The classic yet modern interior has no parallels in my opinion.
I just freakin love my 10AE :)

AFCOzzz

But enough about my ride. What are your plans as of today? Set up geared toward Autocrossing? You got winter tires, do you have high performance summer tires? I know you want to lower it. Are you going to buy new or wait until a good set of TEIN show up used?

the 10ae is one of my favorite miatas .
but once you start to modify it , it loses its unique attraction. eventually ,you'll be left with the badge and blue color. and your 10ae will be no better .
basically , i wouldnt modify one. just like a 93LE.

o and the 99 sport package is the best miata . hands down the fastest.

trouble is they were manufactured 11-12 years ago. Some of the parts, while beautiful, wear out quickly, such as the blue leather on the steering wheel and shift knob.

Just because it's a special edition doesn't make it sacrilegious to personalize the car here and there IMO. I agree with going crazy on the mods, you'd end up just removing all the special bits. a roll bar, wheels, exhaust, etc don't ruin the car for what made it special. Most of the "special" of the 10ae is the paint and the interior IMO. such awesome colours

nice thread.

not sure what people are talking about how modding a 10AE makes it lose value....as long as you don't change the color of the paint, or the interior too it's still rare as ****(although I have seen an attempt to make a replica 10AE LOL)

From the week I brought it home after finishing it:

semi-recent(from the week I painted it, in all it's filthy glory. need to polish the paint still....hoping to do that this week) :

need to paint the MSM front end & get new pics. GV lip is for sale btw painted 10AE blue & comes with the bumper(don't want to seperate)

future plans:
black or nickel 15x9 6uls(leaning towards black)
225/45 RS3's
frog arms
matching buckets (with custom covers to look like 10AE seats)
'01 doorpanels (with blue insert)
big bore/high comp all motor build
