so I got this Miata the other day,

I think it might be a LE; it has the red interior, the BBS wheels, the rear lip, Bilsteins, Etc

I still need to check the VIN to make sure it is in fact a 93 LE and not a regular Miata someone swapped all the parts into.

provided it is in fact a 93 LE, what would you do?

it needs body work and paint. its missing the front lip, the engine is running rough and there are some other cosmetic issues.

Part of me wants to rescue it and restore it to its original glory and part of me wants to rip it apart and stuff the V8 in it.

there are only 1500 of these originally produced and some of them have already been wrecked or raced out...

so perplexed...

if I do the V8 I am going to restore the interior, but I was going to paint the exterior 'white water pearl mica'.
I think for now I am going to get it cleaned up and drive it like it is while I decide what to do with it.
I'm definitely leaning towards V8...

I put a 5.0 in a '93 LE a few years ago and got a bit of flack for it at the time. My thoughts on the matter was that I was simply upgrading the one area of the car that Mazda did not, that being the power. Mazda upgraded the interior, the suspension and the exterior but left the engine the same.
With some polished/chromed engine parts under the hood the car had a very "Harley" type of look to it.
