I've had similar thoughts about the BEGI reflash. They know what they're doing, but their reputation for service could be better. Their price is reasonable, but it's not low enough to make me give up on the Hydra.

Ah! So YOU bought Dillon's old MSM! I was always wondering where that thing went. His MSM alone was the sole reason I was sold on buying one for myself. Good shit dude. If i'm ever down in the Norfolk area i'll have to hit you up because I would love to see that thing in person.

I read that entire thread on M-S about eliminating Boost Creep with the SGDP and have come to the conclusion of just running a external WG when running a upgraded turbo. Yea, it costs more but it's a lot more reliable than an internal.

I'm sorta stalking this thread. I've always wanted to drive a stock msm and see what its like out of the box. I think it's the only version of the miata I have yet to experience.

Honestly I don't think it wows real Miata guys out of the box. Chassis is a bit stiffer, but the power won't startle anybody who has driven an NC and it comes on abruptly, which is lousy in a corner. You can make it quick without breaking the bank, though.

Yeah, you're not missing anything.
Drive one with a complete FM intake kit and a Hydra. That's how they should have came from the factory. Also, #2159 checking in. |

You can come drive mine anytime, stormin'norman.
This thread sucks without lots of pics. Its getting there, but I'll contribute with previously unseen pics later. I need fresh ones of Exige seats and whatnot. |

So unplugging the tps sensor... What's you're opinions? Yay? Or nay? Supposedly it smooths the car out some because it throws the car into open loop constantly. I've yet to actually try it.
And for the sake of Verwah:

Thanks for the consideration
Another trick discovered at M-S: Relocating the MAF to right before the throttle body. Benefit is a much more accurate reading in all conditions of the density of air, and the speed of which it enters your engine. This results in better fuel mileage, and more power while eliminating the bog. Better engine response basically. Negative is that its harder on the delicate sensor to be in boost, and getting potentially oily. It might foul the sensor in a short time requiring you to replace it often. The only guy to test this has has good results with no failed sensors yet. I think he ran it all summer. I haven't tried it, buts its tempting. It would require some custom work to get the sensor in that spot though. |

Well for the all of 20minutes I drove it I only noticed a hint of gas smell. No backfires or anything. You know that like hiccup at 4-4.5 rpms before you get boost? Gone completely. The powerband is sooo smooth. 1st too 2nd too 3rd is like instant power through each shift. None of the hesitation crap. I couldn't really go over 45mph cause I was on side street, but woweee is it fun!
I did kickout the rear-end on a few turns. The transfer of power too the wheels is so smooth and better controlled it feels like. One negative I noticed is it seems like the injectors stay open longer when you let off the gas and throw it in neutral. The tach kinda hangs for a millisecond. I figure it's since you're in open loop still instead of transitioning to closed loop. The car also sits right around 1.2k rpms at idle. I'm assuming its just compensating for more gas flow so it needs to higher idle in order to not stall. I'm going to go out and plug it back in... I can't have that kinda powerband in my hands yet, not with ice on the roads. lol This definitely makes me wanna buy the FM o2 mod as soon as possible. |

Right on. My 321cc injectors halfway fixed the lag before open loop. ITs still kinda there, but not as severly. I get backfires if driven hard, or downshifting after cruising. No fuel smell though. Super steady idle at 700-800 rpms. Its actually steadier than stock injectors. The FMO2 mod requires splicing wires. Thought you should be aware.
