Not a limited edition, but deserving of a place here:

What a brand new NA6CE interior looks like:

Very very early diff:

Low miles!:

I wonder what the VIN is. Supposedly, the first Roadster off the line was numbered 21, a S-Package in red.

A pretty early Roadster in the UK for sale:

This particular car I saw back in 2000, when the importer brought it in, and was going to part it out. I persuaded him otherwise, as soon as I spotted the VIN.

Same early diff.

I think there's one about a little older (minutes older), being used everyday.

That car has a bit of history; it was imported originally by Ka Yu, around 1999-2000. Itr was going to be cut up (worth more in parts; Kev the bodywork guy was busy all day slicing Roadsters up). Dave B let me have a poke around, and I found this red car at the back, ready to be sliced up. Looked pretty clean to me; one of the wings had been replaced, but it wasn't a bad job, interior was clean, hood was k-nackered. Then I saw the VIN. Told Dave he mustn't let this car go under the torch. He kept it, mostly in a garage, for the next few years, Ka Yu became Shing Fung, and then SFT-MX5parts. The car was used as a testbed for new roofs, and new interiors. By the time Sam got it (when SFT was sold on to David Manners), it had ended up with a horrendous interior, and had barely turned a wheel in 5 years (Dave wasn't into MX5s, and thats why he was so successful; complete unemotional attachement). Sam and Steve then basically replaced all the old bits with new. The story behind the restoration of the M2-1002 is even more impressive; meticulous repair and recreation of parts.

Nothing wrong with the OC though.

Didnt know KA-YU became SFT. My step dad used KA-YU for years in the early days of the Japanese imports. Nice group of people who ran the firm.

If I was looking for a roadster for long term value I would stick to something like a M2 car or a decent limited edition model.

Your M2 would have been tempting me when you had it or if Dean Barnes still has his that would also be a good buy.
