Had a great time today, and have some great video. (which is uploading as I type.)

My Miata ran well, but not quite as fast as I would have liked. I was a bit timid in the braking zones, and there were a few places where I could have pushed harder. But for my first time at this track I am happy enough. I ended up running a best of 1:32.xxx in my Miata, and decided to go out on a limb and rent that beastly red thing, pulling a best time of 1:24.xxx. Again, more time could have been had, but again, first time at that track, and first time in that type of vehicle, so I figured that bombing into the braking zones, and pushing too hard wasn't a great idea. (Last thing I wanted was to have to buy it...)

I'll post the videos once they are done loading.

Is that fckn radical?
Not a Rad, but similar. It had a Motorcycle engine (I think 1250cc), I think he said ~130-140hp at 10,000rpm, 5-speed sequential box, IDK what type of suspension or rear end, though it had a solid rear axle. Didn't have a speedo, but based on closing speed vs other cars, I'd say it was definitely doing over 100+mph in spots. The most amazing thing were the brakes. I would bet that once the tires and brakes were warm that it could stop from 60mph in 75 feet. All that I know is that it could go flat from t-8 through the chicane to the braking zone for the hard left (100+mph) and not hit the brakes until about halfway from the left kink to the actual corner. (and I was being a wuss on the brakes.)

I think that someone who knew the track, knew the car, had it dialed, and wasn't afraid to wreck it, could be in the high teens. (IDK how that compares to other cars, The fastest time on 949's site for a miata is in the 25's. That is a few years old, and considering that Brian was running 23's in the "heavy" car, I am sure that someone is running 22's or faster.)

Honestly it seemed like budget/******* Formula Ford.

You may want to skip ahead a minute or so on these. I can edit them, but for some reason it won't let me upload them if I do.

Short, but better picture. (red car)

Longer, but sun is in a bad spot, and sound isn't great. (red car)

Miata, had a fairly good chase with another Miata. Sounds sucks because my car is too damn quiet.

Hope to see some other videos, it is always entertaining to see footage from other cars at the same event.

^ Ya, it seemed like I had the pace when we were in the corners, but get to the straights and you just walk away. Some of it was probably my sick motor, but also, I was taking a tighter line through t8, and the skidpad, so you were probably carrying more speed onto the straights. I think that my shallow line into t8 was costing me a bit of time.

I'll post up the lap times either later on today or tomorrow at night. But in case you guys can't wait for the fast times.

Street 1st, 1.30.6
Mod 1st, 1.28.4
Unlimited 1st , have to check the times when XS puts it up on their site. But I think its a 1.24 or lower.

All that participated please post your laptimes so no one gets missed. Next event we will have something next to the comoetitors name so that everyone can easily spot out miata competitors and their class.
