Okay, I know there are a lot of ATL people on this board, so I'm hoping they'll chime in, but I'm also hoping to put together a convoy from Charlotte, NC to R. Atlanta on May 3rd for the Saturday festivities. Its like a 3.5-4hr drive from CLT to R.ATL, straight down I-85.
Saturday only its $25/person +$10/car infield parking Mazda-specific content: "Mazda Fest" -apparently a Mazda corral, get to park infield. (can't find online info) Playboy MX-5 cup feature event Flyin' Miata's Bill Cardell & Keith Tanner help GRM install an FM turbo setup FM Westfield will be there to oogle over Mazda will have historic race cars on display Kumho will be offering free auto-x laps in new MX-5s Other cool shit to see: Rolex Vintage Enduro Ford Racing Mustang Challenge feature race (spec FR500s racers) Shelby Cobra/GT40 Bondurant Trophy feature race Historic stock-cars feature race (large field, put on a GREAT show last yr at VIR) Several qualifying-races for various historic classes, including historic F1 and Moto GP The full scoop/pricing available here: http://www.roadatlanta.com/event_det...so&-Token.id=3 So, anyone planning to go? NC/SC people, let me know if you want to convoy down. There is stuff to see from 8am to 7pm, so the earlier we leave the better. I was thinking maybe leave ~5am, grab breakfast at a Bojangles along the way, get there by 9-9:30, not miss too much. |

Tempted to make the trip. Went 2 years ago, saw some nice MX5's and a bunch of my other faves - Datsun 510's and 2000's. I'll watch this thread and if I can't make VIR the weekend before, I'll run to ATL with ya.

I hear ya, I might try to go to the Bosch 250 as well. VIR just makes being a spectator so easy... I love it.

Kara is on the fence about going, and I won't make the drive by myself, so its a maybe for me.

Aight, we should try and execute a CR.net meet-up inside the track at some point. I dunno how though... any ideas?
Maybe meet at ___ turn for the start of the MX-5 cup race? I'd be willing to make and hold up a sign or something. |

Ill be there that would be pretty cool if we caould all meet up for that race. Iv been going for a few years now and they usually hold the mx-5 autocross in a bigg area where we could meet its near the skid pad idk what turn that is but that would be a good place for CR ppl to meet.

If I go I'll probably be hanging around the GRM guys, much to their chagrin.

Got our GRM mailer today and it looks like hte prices are all the same as last year.
Super 3-day ticket is $55 and camping is $20. I think preorder is now open so you oughta be able to get your tickets online. |

Here is my suggestion....
Previous attendance leads me to believe that the official Miata corral will be just after the Suzuki bridge on the infield on the left hand side. My other suggestion is to gather near the turn 5 area...

Turn 5 has plenty of parking, restrooms and SHADE. Not to mention a cool view of the track.

Turn 5 makes my eyes, skin and bladder happy. It's especially nice now that they've cut down all the trees that used to block the view up the hill back towards turns 4 and 3. They've also added a new section of track that cuts towards the infield at turn 4, although I haven't a clue what for. I think it's to slow the bikes down a bit or to slow someone else down or...ahhh hell, I don't know. Damn A.D.D. |

I usually take hundreds and hundreds of pics at events like this but for some reason, I just relaxed and looked at the cars this time. I only took maybe 100 pics and have only uploaded about a quarter.
Oh well... it's something http://www.flickr.com/photos/9918875...90802637/show/ |

Ok-first, I'm not a good photographer (yet). Second, my camera isn't the greatest and I'm still just learning how to use it. Thirdly, I've never used Flikr before. All that being said, here are some pictures, although not as good as ones already posted.
