My bad i didn't make it out the other night, my friend got in a accident and i went to go see if he was ok. My other friend accused me of being at the meet because there is another red na there with a black HT possibly?

morning guys. Somewhat recent new member. I'm sure some of you have seen me wandering around here on the site. Just over the weekend put on my mudflaps, TSI's, front and back lip. I don't think any of you have spotted my car yet but here it is. When's the next meet btw?

soooooo i just noticed you guys meetup at the parking lot in Douglaston. I went to Cardozo HS and then QCC afterwards. I used to work at that Toys R Us while going to college. HAHA hilarious.

Yes indeed. Worked on it friday night but ran into a few issues, my brain being missing was one of them. Ended up the gasket for the thermo was leaking which we fixed on the spot but later found out that the water pump gasket somehow ripped and was also leaking. Tore the car down again on sunday and fixed everything up. Car is running great now just have to play with one of the belts it squeals on start up so I'm thinking its a bit too tight.

I also got my alignment on sat morning so that feels great but now my bumper on the drivers side is rubbing at full lock because the support is busted. Going to have to see what I can do about that this weekend.

NICEEE I'm prolly going to need your advice when I work on mine soon... anything I should look out for? Did that cam tool you buy come in handy? Did you replace the gaskets with new ones or were they just reused old ones?

The cam tool did not line up for me, and vasken had a similar issue. I can lend it to you along with the tool used to tighten the cam shaft bolt if you want. If I am available I can just be there to lend a hand as well. I got all new gaskets I would suggest getting fel pro stuff for the water pump and the thermostat if you decide to do those since the quality of the gaskets that came with that stuff was horrible. Other than that just make sure you have all the torque specs handy. Most of the job was done with hand tools, nothing crazy. Extensions and multiples of the same sockets/wrenches will come in handy. We can go over all of this in person a bit more next time you come out, or like I said if I am available I am more than happy to come by and lend a hand.

Been working on installing my HDHC but i ran into a snag, the PO installed a racingbeat style bar and the threads stripped on the inside of the seatbelt harness mount so i will remove the rest of the threads and install a 4" grade 8 bolt with a nut and then finally mount. Waiting for my friend to donate the bolt tomorrow.

Hopefully i will be finished in time to join you guys at the meet.
