Short nose crank. Known to fail but not guaranteed. Essentially the keyway becomes worn especially with the removal of the crank pulley bolt for access to the crankshaft seal. Issues stem from under or over tightening of the the pulley bolt etc
Thats a really good deal for a car that has the factory hard top.
Just as a comparison. When my dad bought his first miata (the one I own now), it had 80k and was fully loaded for the year (A/C, PW, CC, ABS, etc), but didn't have a hard top. He paid somewhere in the neighborhood of $3900 for it back in '01-'02.
That car is a few years newer and comes with a hardtop, not to mention its a SE with a cool luggage rack :fab:
I love that color if I was looking again I would strongly consider, not a fan of the luggage rack but everything else is pretty dope.
