Default Anything happening the weekend of the 8/9th September?

I'm roadtripping down for an S2k thing in Torrance that Saturday, since the so-cal crew always seems to have SOMETHING going, i figured i'd check in and see if there was anything going on I should swing by and check out.

I'll be in the S2k, but you guys won't hold that against me, will ya?

Hahha. Doubt it'll happen. The organizers are being super-fuckin'-secretive about where we're meeting up aside from the final destination. it's what, a week until I leave, and I still don't know where i'm meeting the caravans.

Seriously guys, I wouldn't plan too hard on that being the plan (though if y'all made the call, i'd laugh my ass off and join ya, I kinda think some of the S guys need to be taken down a peg sometimes).

The final parking/bbq thing is at Honda HQ, but the meetup/caravan spot is unknown to me still as the dude on S2ki facilitating this is being real secretive. Honda has it all on RSVP status, i'm allowed Me+1, and have to arrive in the VIN i gave them. (WTF, so picky). My +1 is currently an empty seat if someone wants to join though.

My plan currently looks like this:
Thursday: Leave PDX, get to SF.
Friday: Leave SF, take 17 to Half-Moon Bay, and drive down to Monterrey via 101. Get pic at Laguna to match my Miata shot from a few years ago, and aim south.

Friday night arrive in Torrance-ish area, so KINOD might very well be a killer fuckin' plan, as long as you all don't mock my lack of drop too much or make me take a grinder to my trunklid to fit in. I can't go totally hardcore so-cal style on my daily.

Saturday is the BBQ. Yes, i'm driving 2200 miles for a hotdog. Heh.

Saturday PM I wanna bounce down to Escondido to the Stone Brewery, and then Sunday head back north to WA again.

Sometime Monday i'll roll in, and probably go to work 'cause this is gonna be a very broke-ass weekend for me when it's over.

I haven't booked hotel in Torrance yet, the "Preferred hotel" is 220.00 a night! Fuck that noise.

I don't suppose someone has a couch I can rent for the night, do they? Saving 100.00 means I can blow it at Autobacs on Sunday which I didn't even THINK about until right now. Evil. EVIL!!!!! There goes the rest of my money. Heh.
