SOCM: South Orange County Meet

It has already been ONE YEAR since our first meet that quickly evolved into SOCM.:slayer:

We are calling on everyone who has come to SOCM (and even those who still haven't made it) to come out and show your support.

WHEN? 8/27/11
TIME? 8pm - till whenever
Who? everyone

Where?
24801 Alicia Parkway
Laguna Hills, CA 92653-4654

Across from the Carl's Jr parking lot, directly across the street from the Mazda Dealership.

(enter near Carl's..or the speed bump monsters will get you!)

We have been growing in numbers, would be cool for everyone to show up to our ONE YEAR so we can see just how big we have gotten.

New guys welcome!

thanks!

i know i keep saying this, but i can tell you from a long ownership with this car that it really is about the little things.

refurbing the suspension, ground up, is the best modification i've done. the new control arms and bushings, the new bolts, camber bolts, ball joints, inner and outer tie rods, rebuilt steering rack, steering rack bushings really made the age of my old components apparent. i think the first person who figures out the technique to replace the upper balljoints with the serviceable V8roadster units will be onto something.

chasis stiffening is extremely helpful. i think if i had doorbars, the cars would be incredible.

i still think the JICs are waaaay overdamped. i've also prefer the narrower, sticky tires over wider. the car feels more agile to me and more tossable.

i know the MSPnP isn't tuned well, but uncorking the intake with the mild headwork and combining it with the light flywheel and XT clutch really makes the car feel stronger than it is.

if i keep the car long-term, the only thing i would like to do is a mild engine rebuild, a 4.3 torsen, aluminum driveshaft, diff bushings, and a 5-6psi supercharger.

as it is, i am considering reinstalling the AC and maybe a quieter exhaust.

***edit***

the brakes are 1.8 brakes with HPS pads, drilled rotors and stainless lines. a newer master cylinder helped the feel a little. lightweight wheels offer a bit more feel when modulation is necessary, just my opinion.
