No need to be condescending about it. Lot produced and they're cheaper/older etc etc, the forum's median age as you so eloquently put it is "young" and as a result whatever they can get their hands on will most likely be on the lower end of the spectrum. Obviously this is not always the case but I assume you can figure what I'm getting at? |

dude, easy. he really wasn't being harsh.
90-93 just seem to be common, the old men hold out on their 1.8's and charge a lot extra for them because they are so "superior" I'm actually more fond of the 1.6 for no real reason other than its cool factor for being hated on. 1.8's make big power more reliably but 1.6's are really no "inferior" to their bigger brothers. Mine makes a very reliable 200whp and I'm ok with that. After it makes 250 I'll be happy |

i'm a 26 year old sexy alaskan/russian virgin. my hobbies include making gourmet homemade salsas with drugs in them. they also have obscure names like "white bitch", "rape whistle", and "who the fuck ate the last hot pocket".. that one has pot in it.. i've been a technician for a decade and have owned four AE86s, two 300ZXs, one 240SX, two BMWs, two Mercedes, one Saab 9000 Aero, three VW GTIs and some other random dailys.. used to race in SCCA, now i just toy around for fun.
my current toy is a 90' with no major visible modifications, but plenty of money put into it for reliability sake. function>form. |

If I was going turbo I'd probably just stay 1.6, as it stands since I'll be going the N/A route I'll need all the extra help I can get so I'll go 1.8

Doesn't matter anymore but my old Miata was built in June of 89 and was actually one of the first 500 cars built.
She now resides in New York with a built engine that runs on E85. Quote:

right now? Welded 1.6 lol and I love it. Will eventually be swapping in an Rx-7 TII diff and axles along with custom hubs. I will probably weld it and eventually get an ATS 2-way cause i can get a crazy price on those |
