Anyone know where to buy advanced autosport products in canada?

I'm looking to get a pair of their vents!

I know Simon and Herman both have/had these windows. Shipping was not an issue. I do know there are multiple vendors, some charging more than double what other vendors charge.

I've always gone back and forth on whether I want these or not. I daily my car, have no ac and these would only work at speed - at speed, my windows do the job fine. I guess there's a slight weight reduction benefit lol

I'm in the same situation as you SR, no AC daily driver. The thing for me is that on the highway, the buffeting with the windows down annoys the hell out of me. These, apparently, help with that. Also, they provide the option of fresh air when it's raining which is nice.

Worse comes to worse, I may order a bunch of the little pop vents and laser cut a batch of my own windows. Though, for the amount of work that involves and the cost of materials, I'd rather just buy them lol.

I ordered it from Advanced, but not Herman. I think they did reply my email but it was a long time ago.

I ordered a set of these last week. They emailed me back to say I needed to pay an extra $20 in shipping to get them to Canada. I gave them the ok but haven't heard anything back yet. Not sure if they have been shipped or if my order has been cancelled.

YES! This is the part I hate...and it's calling for thunderstorms just in time for my commute home. At least it usually isn't as hot when it rains.

That's good news. Did you simply buy them and add a note that you wanted them shipped to Canada or did you go through the process of emailing them?

If anyone's serious about ordering them, maybe we should put them all on one order and ship to one place to save on shipping?

Yeah, got it sorted out a few min ago. It's probly worth emailing them before you order so they know ahead of time. Might save you from a delay or two. Got word that mine are on their way tomorrow.... Although there was a slight delay, their customer service was very good.

Depending on the #, perhaps we can negotiate a better price ;D

Btw, who is going to take charge of this and organize it? Any volunteers? I can try to get more people on board if required. I'm also willing to organize the gb if no one else is (but I would require a deposit from everyone in) - I also have no issue with anyone else willing to organize it.

FYI, I will be tinting mine. If I can get enough interest, I can also arrange for clear protective film on the outside, as lexan is not resistant to scratches like glass.

So tint on the inside and protective film on the outside?
I would like the film but not sure about the tint, since my windows are not tinted...
what % tint will you be getting them done?

I would not suggest tint if your windows aren't tinted - that would just look strange.

My tint is 25% all around. It would look strange to have clear corner windows when everything else is tinted. I'm going to paint the pop out vent.

I'll have to get a quote on the film if there is interest, or you can just get it done anywhere really.

So I'll leave it up to ThunderRobo to see if he wants to organize this for everyone since he started the thread. I'll talk to my vinyl guy on the weekend about this so we can get a rough cost on clear outside film and inside tint. I'm not sure if he's doing tint on a vehicle. These corner windows are easy to tint and film - cost will likely be $5-10 plus cost of material since these are quite easy to do off the car.

I'm going to take a closer look at GV's windows on Saturday @ the SimplyMiata meet

Good question. I was hoping ThunderRobo would respond since this is his thread.

I took a look at the windows on the weekend. I'm in for a group buy. Just need to figure out who is organizing it.

Installed one on the drivers side today:

Have yet to install the Naca duct version on the passenger side. I want to find a cap of some sort first so I can block it off when I don't want to use it.

While I was in there I also installed teflon window guides. If you are planning on installing the vented quarter windows i would highly recommend doing the window guides at the same time. You have to remove the window track either way and it's only a couple extra steps to install the new guides... It made a huge difference on my windows. Heres a shot of the new / old one:

Aside from being worn / broken, the old one was covered in sticky grease.

Hey Allan, did your pop-out section come attached or separate from the window?

I recently did the window guides as well - huge improvement. My driver side was so bad that it would only be half way down by the time the passenger side was fully down. Replaced them both and they're like new.

The pop out section came separate from the window because it can be installed on either side of the car. The Naca duct can be mounted on either side as well.

Unfortunately because of a recent car accident I sustained a leg injury, so for the time being I can't really get in / out of the car... So I can't comment on how well the vented window works Yet

You can get these soft plastic caps in plumbing at home depot motorsports. I'll trade my pop out window for someone's naca duct if interested.

Lol sweet I'll check that out.

Also just FYI, I was going to mount the Naca duct on the drivers side but it comes very close to the steering wheel. With my hands on the wheel the duct comes within about an inch of my left hand. So that's why I went for the pop out vent on the drivers side. This may vary depending on your steering wheel / hub set up though.
