Default Okeechobee 1/8 mile drag strip - Sunday February 17th

In our meeting yesterday, I mentioned I would like to attend a local 1/8 mile track in Okeechobee, Miami Sunday Feb. 17th to represent the miata community.

Y will prefer to attend Sunday, since they open all day. That way we get a chance to inspect the cars and take pictures and videos of the event. The weather is perfect now. Let me know who is down to go with me. We can all bring food and gather together. It will be a lot of fun to be there and of course to show the Miami car race fans that our roadsters are not chic cars!!!

*EDIT*
$50.00 to race. - M2-1028 Special Event Sunday Feb. 17 Domestics vs. Imports
$15.00 to watch.

What's up Jared. We missed you yesterday. He buddy, don't blame me, blame my stupid metropieceofcrap phone plan that does not have service in Homestead. I am at work today, very tired but I had a lot of fun yesterday. Jared, it was a pleasure meeting your friend, Sebastian and the other folks but I'd like to know if the computer issued was resolved with Tony's car. Find out with Sebastian what was the outcome of that.

Phil:

I don't watch sports anymore. I had no idea Super Bowl is this coming weekend. We'll do it next time. But please since you are pretty much the meeting organizer in most events, let's plan this ahead so we can all prepare to this event. 2 weeks is perfect for me.

I told you the that those cam angle sensor seals are suck.

Take your cam angle sensor to a place named Hydraulic Sales in Miami, ask for Luis and tell him to sell you a good o-ring. That's what I did on my car to resolve this issue. This is where I did all my stainless steel lines.

Let's all plan for Sunday Feb. 17th

That should give everybody interested to compete in this event about 3 weeks to complete your car, have it tune and ready for the event. What do you guys think?

I know a couple of folks who are about a week or two behind in finishing their project cars. Another thing is that I ordered a water/methanol injection kit that is backordered. According to the Summit website, It should be delivered to me by Feb. 2nd. The reason I now prefer Feb 16 rather than Feb. 9 is because is Valentine's weekend, this shall give me enough time to prepare in advance. No EXCUSES!!!

We should all wear pink shirts for the weekend named: Chic Car.

Phil: Can you make a logo in pink color named: Chic Car. I swear, I'll put on my rear bumper.

Never? Dude there is nothing like the minute or two you stand in front of big crowd with little expectations of your car, even making fun of you. Then you take off and that little sick ass roadster becomes the nightmare of the night, the car to watch. =D>

Is a feeling you will never forget.

Easy. If you are coming from the North, Take palmetto (826) drive south like if you are going to the Keys. Exit Okeechobee Road heading West. Keep driving in Okeechobee Road, West for like about for like about 8-10 miles. (Just drive straight until after you pass Krome ave) The track is on your right, you can't miss it.
it's called Dade-County Line or something like that. I'll try to find the website.

I need to mention something.

The race fever is strong in Miami. If you go to the track, you will find a bunch of ugly beat up cars running hard. This is not Morosso guys, they don't check your car, they don't check for safety issues, none, nada. The only thing required to race in a convertible is a helmet. That's all.

With respect to cars, a lot of race shops in Miami take their cars there. If your car is fast is going to be remembered for sure, but if you are going to race and your car is a cow, I don't know. That just the way it is down here, don't take it personally.

With respect to everything else, there are a lot fast cars. But a boosted miata has a very good chance in the 1/8 track. Our cars are light and accelerate way faster than other cars, so that's the good news for the folks planning to race. This is your chance to race your car against the Hondas, Acuras, 240z, 350z and the infamous SRT-4. I hate those SRT-4s!!!!!

It's not neccessarily a voltage issue.

I had the same problem one day, and it turned out that one of the filaments in the bulb was broken on one side, and causing a short-circuit and blowing out the whole fuse. Couldn't figure the damned thing out for the life of me.
