Tuffy Service Center in Clermont: My GF went in there yesterday to get an alignment. They called her ten minutes later to tell her that her rear shocks(w/ 75k on them) were blown and that the alignment wouldn't be correct until they were replaced. Umm...sure. True to their word, the alignment they charged her for didn't accomplish anything, and the car still pulls to the right. Seeing as they didn't provide a printout pre or post alignment, I'm pretty sure they didn't touch the car.

They were definitely trying to hose us with the shocks, and the alignment was likely not done. In their defense, the car has a metric odo on it, so they thought car had 123k on it, but that doesn't mean the rear shocks are bad. I'm going to rotate the tires and see if the pulling stops or changes, as it's possible it's a radial pull.
No warranty on the alignment, as the shock recommendation appears to their out for standing behind their work. |

start doing your own alignments. Seriously, after struggling with it the first 3-4 times, I can alignment front OR rear in about an hour (and both in an hour and a half. Setup takes time, the aligning isn't so bad). pick a saturday morning and do both cards, should be done by lunch and I am willing to bet your girl will be up for some fun in return!

If you're willing to drive to the Millenia mall I can align it for you. It won't be the cheapest alignment but it would probably be the best alignment the car has ever had. We also have the latest and greatest alignment equipment.

No print out with before and after numbers= no alignment at all. I'd demand the printout or the money back. We could always organize a Miata blockade of their shop in protest.

by letting her know that the alignment would not be correct because of the shocks they devulged themselves from having to give any sort of warranty , I know because the same shit happened to me . but the guy actually aligned my car he just did a terrible job at it .

I rotated the tires, put the new pair on the front and the older pair on the back. Made a huge difference. Only a very slight pull to the right now. So perhaps they did align the car, but still no excuse for trying scam us into buying shocks the car clearly doesn't need.
