i dont know. I did not want to piss anyone off. He claims to be the originator of oem+ tm felt like if he cared that much to mention that he might be one of those people to get mad if someone else said it. I guess you are right. Now one really does care.

Either way, based on Bryan's original idea, I don't think NAs can do the OEM+ thing as they aren't modern enough.

Huh? I'd say any car can pull off OEM+ it's just about subtle modding. It doesn't have to be a newer car... it's just about making it appear as if it would come from Mazda that way, but with your own bit of taste to it.

edit: for example, someone modding their stock USDM Na to be an M2-1028 etc.

what I was going for was what na should have had from factory. I think it should have had a roll bar from factory. Mine will be more of a vintagy type build.

the purpose of the miata was to be a roadster based off of the british roadster with japanese reliability. In my mind it is a british roadster. just without as many leaks.

Nobody said NA's have to be vintage-inspired, that's just a common route people take. For me, OEM+ is modding the car so subtly that a random person or even a Miata enthusiast would have to do a double take to even realize it isn't 100% stock. Every part compliments the rest of the car and fits together as a total package (giggity).

my take on what oem + was that the car is suppose to be what should have been made. It is in my mind the ideal car that the manufacturer could have envisioned. Better than what they made in my mind of course because that is very subjective to each and every person. My vision is british-ish. In the future i might entertain bullet mirrors a wood wheel and I have thought about a mirror attached to the dash. i need leather gloves, leather helmet and aviator goggles.

Atleast its not slammed and scrapping on everything like most hondas around me or has a massive fart can.

Scrat is OEM+ a lot of other stuff. Flipper is OEM+ a few other things.

The only person that has an OEM+ Miata is modernbeat. And it is a NA. Read his build and you'll see the definition of OEM+, in the context you are hinting at, in spades.

Well my NB is OEM---/++ because I have added stock seats from an NA, but I've also removed my carpet, radio, soft top. So my car is like 1/6 NA plus or minus a few.
