Awesome! Way to go Wowak! That's quite an honor to be featured on the front cover of GRM.

You're joking... right? SCC has made strides in recent years, but they're forever the official magazine of rice and poseurs.

SCC?! Surely you mean Import Tuner or Super Street.

GRM is definately more technical and a much more informative mag, but I think SCC is far from ricers and poseurs.

Ok, there are ricier and posier(?) magazines, but I can't remember the last time I saw anything of value in SCC. The one shining exception was the "mythbusters" type article that listed a bunch of things that work on racecars but generally make street cars SLOWER.

there's something of value in each issue IMO.

if it's not technical, it's at least f*ckin cool.

and I only remember SCC being rice way back in the day.

SCC has had some pretty cool Miatas in the past. Their current project Miata is definitely no joke. You really can't compare the two since they cater to different crowds. SCC is definitely not rice though.

+1 Scc has toned down a lot on the vinyl queens and many project cars grace their pages. 3 different Miata projects IIRC (NA, NB, and Time Attack now)

Super Street just doesn't know, or want to even try to see how capable Miatas are. Way too insecure with themselves. Modified has gone soft, I think they killed it for me when I got 4 issues out of a years worth subscription when they first started. Import tuner has their moments. Turbo, which I think is now DSport had a pretty good last issue, 471WHP E85-turbo'd, Alt. fuel NB. They all have their shining moments, but SS is by far the lowest on the "should I look through it" scale at all times for me.

Sport Compact is a pretty decent auto publication and yes they were pretty ricey, back in the day, but what import oriented magazine wasn't (excluding GRM of course) ricey when they started. I mean they're whole purpose in the beginning was to sell magazines and to do so they had to appeal to the teenage masses. Turbo, SCC and GRM are all good reads.

Any car magazine that had a separate section for models is a waste of paper. If I was to look at the ladies, I'll do it for free on the internet.

So SS is down on your list because they show no miata love? Remember what Matt said about the SCC issue with the miata on the cover? Lowest selling issue EVER. EVERY article that i've read in any magazine pokes fun of the "girly car" or "hairdresser" stigma of the miata. Its nothing new and it won't change. To me, SS has set the trend (as far as JDM coverage) for what you are seeing in other "import" magazines. (Besides covering Miatas). In case you guys care, the editor and writers for SS love the miata but they know a cover wont sell issues and their bosses won't approve enough money to throw into their Project Miata. I know because the editor is a friend and long-time contributor on the "other" honda forum.
