Default Any other gooners out there?

i know there are plenty or members from across the pond on here...some of yall have to be football fans. i hate man united and was actually hoping for chealsea to overtake them for the title, but not at the expense of my beloved gunners. anyways, manchester takes the title for the first time in 3 seasons. thoughts? i'm sure anfeild red will chime in here soon.

Gooner here. There's no way on earth I'd want Chelsea to win the title; that would have been almost as bad as Spurs. Wash your mouth out.

Chelsea; $0.5 billion to get the Carling Cup. Ha ha.

Anyhow, why aren't you celebrating that Arsenal have done the [strike:3ad1a113cc]Treble[/strike:3ad1a113cc] quadruple anyhow, instead of wondering how other teams have got on; at least the ladies' team has.

my mouth is clean now  . i dont like chealski but i HATE united. i just wanted ferguson to have to cry over another season gone without winning the title. i have to be honest...i havent been keeping up with the arsenal ladies. i've been keeping up with the reserves team though, unfortunately . you heard anything over there about henry leaving are? are we gonna see eto'o at the emirates next season. apparently queresma and/or ribery are on wengers list of summer buys i'm sure you've got the inside tip, actually being over there...fill me in!

Insider tip? I don't work at Ashburton Grove  Henry's knees are knackered; I give him another season, then au revoir. At this stage, I'd ignore rumours of transfers. A couple of weeks ago we were supposed to be signing Woodgate

At the moment, Arsenal is fending off a take over from the Yanks. Who gets signed is really down to whether Dein can get back on the board. As it is, if he's not there, I'm not so sure Wenger will see out his working days at the club. Perhaps he'll make that move to Real Madrid.

I guess you missed the Cashley Cole tapping up and Carling Cup fight.

i meant inside tip as in, football/soccer takes a back seat to american sports over here. i dont have as much exposure to it in the states as you do over there. as for cole...yeah he's a little bitch (didnt he and jenas have a thing together  ), but clichy has filled the role nicely. clichy is a very underrated wing back IMO. speaking of the takeover, whats the opinion of it over there? i know the glazer takeover was an ugly mess when it happened, and liverpool fans keep saying, "tradition cant be bought." it cant be all that bad, though, can it?

I am starting to follow my local USL team the Timbers. It's not the premiersip but it's fun to watch and be a part of the cheering section. I'm hoping to get cable soon so I can get the Fox Soccer Channel so I can keep up with english football.

fsc is great and so is gol tv, but apparently setanta is the way to go...i have dish network, and they dont offer setanta . usl actually isnt that bad, and fsc actually airs some usl games. texas is a BIG state and the nearest teams to me are FC dallas and houston dynamo of. youre lucky to have a usl team that close. the epl is a whole different story, though. i envy roadsternut for being right there in the thick of it.

No you don't, not when you consider it will probably cost me £200+ ($400+) to see a decent Arsenal match. I can't be bothered with Sky, so no live matches. Even the Carling Cup final; I ended up trying to watch a streaming Chinese broadcast, with radio commentary 30 secs. behind. Quickly gave up on that.

Still, I get to see the Reserves play

Damn, Roadsternut those're some spendy tickets!

I've really enjoyed the TImbers matches I've been to. $10 tickets and getting lit with the Timbers Army is good times! Plus Our team Mascot is an older dude who runs around with a chainsaw. WHat's not to love about that?

Setanta looks cool, but $14.99 a month is STEEP for a premium channel. I don't have directv anyway.

Also, apparently Portland and seattle are both being considered for an MLS expansion team. That'd be nice.

i havent heard anything about portland or seattle becoming part of mls, yet. last i heard, atlanta and st. louis. the atlanta silverbacks (i think) suppossedly have a pretty big fan base in their area, and st. louis just makes sense. i mean, our 1950 world cup team (the team that beat england 1-nil) was made up of players from mostly STL, with a handful of new york college players thrown in. the more the merrier, though. maybe splitting the league into 2 confrences will actually make sense one day.

i would chime in if i understood the sport a little more....i've read the rules and such, but until i have access to actually watch it regularly, i'm still lost. looks more interesting than baseball though.

AGENT...if you have itunes, you should podcast "world soccer daily." pretty good stuff, and its a great way to keep up if you cant wathc the EPL.

I'll take a listen to it. I'm pretty bad at keeping up with podcasts though.

As to the portland Seattle MLS expansion, it's something that the MLS is considering. I'd be glad to see it happen as the nearest MLS team to me is in CA which is a hell of a drive. I'm sure they'd want a bigger Stadium than portland could provide though. Our USL team plays in our AAA Baseball statium which is fairly old and small so of the two Seattle would probably win out.
