Re: Random Thoughts 4.0

My abs come from six packs.
Unfortunately, so have mine over the past 2 years

Word. None have particularly blown my mind but they're really solid choices. Like everything New Belgium does, just a really good selection of good beers.
Very good way of putting it. Certainly not the best thing I've ever drank, but decent availability, price, and more than decent taste.
This is how I feel about Sam Adams. They produce extremely pleasing beers (especially their winter ones), even though they are not the best. Both companies have great special release beers though.

Re: Random Thoughts 4.0

A man I grew up going to church with finally passed away today at age 63. He had been wheelchair-bound and barely verbal since I was in high school. His wife of 43 years was with him until the end. I can't help but be blown away by that kind of devotion. Honestly, I'm on the verge of tears. I was friends with his kids, and had seen him deteriorate pretty far before I left town for college.

Sounds amazing.
Twas. Then she baked some pecan chocolate chip cookies. They were good. And now a few of them have been turned into ice cream sandwiches and are chilling.

Pretty much anything Sierra Nevada makes is good.

Both Sierra Nevada and New Belgium are pretty solid but I feel like they try too hard to be overly hoppy sometimes. Let the Ranger and Rampant from New Belgium prove that. Sierra Nevada's Extra IPA as well. Just hopped through the roof. Their Pale is a classic and the seasonal rye is ok.

As for Sam Adams, the Boston Lager is one of a handful of beers that is both readily available and desirable by both my wife and I. Their Rebel IPA was much more enjoyable than I expected. And one of these days... one day... I'll invest in utopias. Not sure I'm ready to "invest" in beer though, lol.

4 days for me. Just like every week for the past 6 or so. Final test scheduled for dec. 1. If I don't pass it then, it's 4 day work weeks until jan. 15ish. And if I don't pass it by then, time to look for a new job.

Deschutes is another brewery that does everything well. Black Butte Porter is good, Mirror Pond is good, Chainbreaker is what got me into drinking hoppy beers. I think their beers are just a good example of whatever style they're going for.
