I'd say no. Stick with a 50 shot. If you install an uprated clutch you'd be okay up to a 75 shot. You're really risking it at anything above that unless you have a fully built motor and direct port.

For a stock motor and 100 shot, I'd want direct port, a progressive controller and a damn good tune.

It doesn't work because there is tremendous shock loading with nitrous oxide. If you start squirting a wet 100 shot at 1500rpm without proper supporting modifications you WILL kill your motor. It doesn't work because several other people that came before you have tried it and failed catastrophically. So don't do it unless you do it right ($$) or want to blow up your motor. You will want more than just the nozzles, tank, plumbing, and activation switch. At a minimum you will also want to install a bottle heater, an ignition timing controller than can retard timing when squirting, a dual feed fuel rail and a high flow fuel pump.

somebody please correct me if i'm wrong...but isnt temperature change a major factor on stock pistons, also. i thought that the factory pistons couldnt handle the frequent temp change that n20 adds to the equation.

Find me a 100 shot wet kit with: Bootle Warmer Remote Opener Purge RPM Window Switch NOS Gauge AFPR SAFC Injectors For $350 Oh yea, and since you're adding 100HP, you're going to need a clutch. And if you're cracking the tranny, you might as well do the flywheel. So add another $700. |

^^ yeah that will not happen. you can get away with out bottle opener, and bigger injectors will not be needed with a wet kit. If I wanted 100 shot on a bone stock motor, here is the absolute minimum I'd need:
NX direct port kit. be prepared to drill and tap the manifold - $ 800+ with the amount of fuel your pulling off the main line your robbing your injectors.. so separate pressure regulator and line - $80 Detonation's a killer, you'll need timing control. Bipes will do it $220. window switch for obvious reasons $50 fuel pressure safey switch $40 walbro fuel pump $200 youre lookin at $1400 bones for the bare, bare minimum. but stuff you will really need Seprate fuel pump and line to the tank would be a big upgrade $100? purge $100 Bottle heater $150 progressive contoller $200-$500+ a 75 shot hit at 3k is like a 150 shot hit at 6k.. so a progressive controller would be a big help. bottom line is a safe 75 shot with the nessesary accesories for safety, reliablilty and consistancy will run you about $1000 to do it "right", but can be done with a base kit if youre careful for $500. any way you cut it more than a 75-80 shot is going to cost you. I'm going to run up to 100, maybee 125 (w/prog controller) shot from a single nozzle, but I've got a built engine and a standalone that will control nitrous so that will make a big difference reliablity wise.. |
