Default Check out my new IRTB trumpets! ***NOW WITH SOUND!!!***

A little longer and much prettier than the ones that came with the kit, these trumpets will give me more low to mid-range torque. They also give a little deeper sound when I'm on the throttle! I went for a test run tonight around 1:30 and I'm sure my neighbors love me! Oh well!

I'll get a sound clip up tomorrow.

Scroll down for sound clips!

They certainly look sexy and I'm sure the sound is worth whatever you paid for them but what kinda extra torque are you expecting down low? Definitely post as many videos as you want, I'd like to hear them reved from under the hood and hear them under load.

They definitely have a deeper sound, especially when under load.

I can feel a little bit of a difference, but I got them mainly in preparation for some work I am planning on the engine.

I picked up a stripped 1.6 head from a friend a few days ago.

Over time, I am going to send it off for an acid bath, decking, porting, bigger valves, different cams, etc.

The head is going to have specs very similar to a limited production Mazda 1.6, available only in Japan....

I'll be installing the MS PnP too, along with some other things.

My goal is 160 NA hp. We'll see.

It got all tingly, and I felt it more than normal because when I took it out at 1:30 a.m. I was in my boxers.

TMI?

Tim you get even 150whp and a decent amount of torque and I swear I will never again even think of buying a turbo. If a normal person (read: not fuji racing) can get that from a 1.6 with just the fuji kit MS PnP mild headwork and cams then I think I could probably reach my goal of about 150 or 160whp with the fujiracing and MS PnP and cams on a 1.8.

The thing that scared me off of IRTBs in the past is that I thought it's out of my skill level or understanding to get more than 150whp because you need to do porting and other messing with engine internals that I just don't understand enough to consider.

I am so happy to know that I don't have to pass on what is probably my favorite sound in the world just to get the hp I wanted. Can't wait to hear the vids tomorrow.

Now with SOUND! You can't tell in these videos because of the loss of sound fidelity, but they have a deep sound and standing so close, I can feel the air moving around my ears!

These are just revving from idle. I'll try and get a video/sound of the engine under load later today or tomorrow. The weather is crappy here right now.

160hp is a whole lot to ask from a street driven N/A 1.6. On a stock bottom end I doubt it can happen. I hope you'll prove me wrong though

Tim - ditch the ABS module and FPR gauge...you need maximum airfRow! At least that is what Aizawa says.

Yours make a wierd whizzy sound compared to mine. Same wierd over-clattering sound though.

Been listening to some recordings of my car, and i'm trying to isolate exactly where the sound comes from. Good to know i'm not alone.

Sounds awesome! =D>

It's amazing how much the length of the stacks changes the sound. One of these days I might have to buy a set of IRTBs.
