please..please for the love all things miata, just close this thread. And lets not bring up what engine swap is best for a TT car, UNTIL YOU ACTUALLY DO IT.

I would go LSx swap.

I am in the same boat as to what motor to run in my time attack NA miata. I was going to go F20 and throw a supercharger on it. But bolt-ons and a tune you will make 400whp and that will easily make up for the 156+/- weight you will add (based off friends swap). Add a set of 15x10 6UL's and 275-35/15 hoosier A6's and you will have a fast fast car.

I would also consider doing a 13BT swap. Might be a little easier to put power down with such little torque yet can easily make 400+

i put down the power just fine on some 225/45r15 r comps. although i'm limited to r comps for street driving. i had some 195 econo tires and those things didn't like the power at all.

a 13 b swap sounds fun as hell

8k?

You need to get on miataturbo.net ASAP and DO RESEARCH.

If you truly are looking to be competitive, you're going to eat up that 8k just prepping the chassis ... never mind the drivetrain.

A quick dip into reality:

http://949racing.com/949-miata-big-brake-kit.aspx
http://949racing.com/miata-big-rotor-kit.aspx

http://949racing.com/15x10-6ul-black.aspx
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....artnum=75ZR5R6

+ 2k-4k for a nice tig welded chromo cage
+ shit loads of other things ... seat, harness, steering wheel, gauges, a quality radiator/fan set up, at least a torsen upgrade but preferably an OSG.

There are plenty of guys who ate up $18k+ prepping their miatas for the track while retaining the stock drive train.

I was just talking about the engine swap. I have the boredom, the time and the money to just F around, well once I sell my truck for 9k

Exactly. That was the point I was conveying. If this is his only car, then, it would be silly.

Yes, EVERY track Miata needs XIDAs and a BBK and 15x10s and Hoosiers...

I believe you may have missed the part where the conversation was revolving about being competitive in a class in which a 350whp+ Miata would live.

"Competitive" being the key word.

a 13 b swap sounds fun as hell
I just dont see putting power down on 225 hoosiers. 350whp miata was spinning pretty good. I instruted a guy in a NB with a LS6 swap and never hooked on 225 RS-3's.

I just see 225's not being enough for 400tq+ on most road courses.

My goal for next season is to be at 450whp and 2300lbs

But it will be a matter of being able to get the heat in the 275's. I guess testing needs to happen...
