So.. this is pretty cheap and ghetto.
I was going to buy the hard dog trailer hitch.. but then decided to make my own. The existing brackets for the factory tow hooks have the holes already to go and the metal is very thick and stout. So I just welded up some square tubing and bought a $16 1-1/4" receiver tube which is 6" in length. Anyway.. all I built it for was to support a bike rack. which in this case.. is plenty. Total cost - $16 receiver tube $16 in steel $32 total for this beauty. |

Serious question, did your bike cost more than your car?
Nice job on the hitch receiver, I was gonna do something similar on my NB but I bought a small trailer and I didnt want to take the risk pulling it on a homemade receiver so I just bought a real one instead. |
