From what I gather, Lex and Jerome are who started Moton then sold to AST.

Your creak- did you keep the plastic washer sleeve thingys that go between the shock hats and the chassis? Those are actually beneficial in limiting nvh. Just an idea..

No, he does not have those. Definitely worth trying if he can't solve this.

Ryan, I'm suggesting the diff brace first because it's easier than installing the plastic gaskets on the top hats, and easier than reinstalling stock diff bushings.

However, my next suggestion if the diff brace removal doesn't solve anything, is to bolt on the metal cups below the diff arms. Should be pretty easy if done one at a time.

Josh you're talking about the RB lower control arm brace right, not a diff brace.

I'm gonna put my money on poly diff mounts.

Ryan.... you idiot, did you not transfer the little clear plastic gaskets that go on top of the tophats onto the MCS? You know, like Eddie, Nick and I all told you to get before you installed them....

Excuse yourself Martin, I'll let you remove your foot from your mouth.

First of all this creak/sound was there before the suspension swap. I thought maybe it was the previous setup but it clearly wasn't.
Also, there were no gaskets there from before.

Well if you had no gaskets before and still don't have them I imagine the sound would persist. Why don't you just put some in....

Here's what I noticed today. It goes away, similar to what I read regarding poly diff mounts. When people mentioned theirs squeak when cold and then once warm it goes away.

I want to compare your MCS to my FCMs. I'm sure the ride is similar in terms of compliance over rough roads.

I had a similar creak/clunk for a while. Then it magically disappeared and hasn't come back *fingers crossed*

Yeah, we can swap rides.

Thanks Leadfoot, can't wait to get the swap started.

Are you going to C&C? If so, I can meet you at your place and we can swap rides there. I'm thinking I'll take the HT off this time.

After it being recommended by Eddie at AR, sticking with OEM 1.6 clutch, I got this from a member NIB for a good deal.

Still have to decide on flywheel.
Konis/GC all clean for next owner.

Got my other my wheels off the garage floor and 2 of my studded tires as well.. Pretty good little rack for $60. 300 lb capacity.

Just a wee bit leary about putting the car under it the first time. D:

These look good except from their website, they are 1.8 clutches only, no? Even when installed on a 1.6.

7lb Fidanza is for 1.6. It's what I have paired with stock exedy. Amazing response. You will be a god working the pedals.

I have an OEM 1.8 clutch. It was cheaper than the 1.6 and I figured I'd get more life out of it.

My last response was for Chris. Regarding the Fidanza, I thought that's what I had but now I can't find any record of it. Does yours make a drivetrain racket on deceleration?

Ok, I've heard that too. I'll probably go with the Fidanza.

Can one of the mods edit my thread title to include (now with VVT swap)?
