Well I could have but I like to look around, snap pics and be a PITA to the tech. But actually he's a very nice guy who takes his time and doesn't mind BSing, he drives an old Civic in Rallycross.

Yeah, I hope these numbers will work. Funny he had the rear camber at 4degrees, but I don't think that's optimal.

So i caught something today with the help of reading other forums.
My toe numbers are not what I requested. The tech converted the number incorrectly and set me at 1/8" instead of 1/16". Will have to go next week and have them fix it.

Nail, the floor is yours...

Back from a vacation in Mexico. Got this cool chopped license plate from a beach vendor.

Zihuatanejo is where we stayed, very laid back town.

Has a reschedule on the alignment and after going through the numbers we realized the numbers we were looking at for the toe were in degrees not decimal inches. So actually they were about right. But the steering wheel was a touch to the left so he addressed that while I sat in the car and tweaked the toe a bit more and so this is how it sits, about 1/16 of an inch out the front and in at the rear. I'm glad we didn't have to change anything because I really like the way it handles right now.

Unfortunately the painted tire letters we're fading very badly, too bad because I liked the way it looked. So I ended up removing the paint with some paint thinner , so its back to black.
I bought a couple of these unique Koni stickers that I found on ebay. They must be fairly old, looking at the design and that the glue was hardly sticky, so I used a little heat to reactivate the glue.

Pretty set for now just waiting on autox and track season.

The car looks great. Love the addition of the koni sticker. It's in the perfect spot IMO. It's small stuff like that that makes a car unique.

Sharp looking car and I like your track minded goals. Function>Form

Very nice Porsche! Who doesn't like a nice Porsche, showing my Porsche ignorance but I don't suppose the SC trim means supercharged? A guy can wish, right.

Long time since I've updated but it's like God damn Christmas over here.

Three big changes coming.

1. 15x9 wheels with 225/45/15 RS3s replace the 15x7s.

They're TRs C3s.

I just picked these up today.
MCS single adjustables.

New these are about $3000 complete. AR in Lake Oswego OR put these together as a used but 0 miles on a rebuild and revalve.
700/400 rates and 18 click adjustment.

This may be what started the push to ramp it up a notch.
A 1.8 VVT engine from a 2002 NB. Member Doppleganger's engine that was boosted for many miles but than bent a rod. Greddygalant rebuilt it with plans to put it in Laz. He then came upon his MSM turbo motor and Curly and Greddygalant did a little trade which then consequently the motor ended up in my hands. He will be helping with install and tuning which is the biggest reason I've decided to commit to this. You better work!
Parts are piling for the swap. RB was backordered on headers (use a 94-97) so I went with an OBX.

A Reverant built MS3 Basic is hopefully shipping this week from Greece. That will include VVT tuning and basmap.
Other parts needed.
94-97 cat.
Metal core from Enthuza, damn nice piece.

AEM wideband/afr

I also have Trackspeed Engineering braided clutch cable and a NB throttle cable on the shelf.
This won't be crazy amazing HP by any means but 140-150 had been done and mid range torque will be much better. Might needsome tweaking and tuning to get good numbers but it's a great place to start, plus freshly gone through. I'm extremely excited.

Huzzah for updates! Also congrats on the motor. Can't wait to see it in there and see what numbers you end up hitting. That 140-150 should be fun with better mid range torque to play with.

Not in the near future, I prefer to drive to events and drive home with little to no complications. But I wouldn't rule it out completely.

MCS are in, huge thanks to Curly for coming to save my ass. Trying a different method for front swap that doesn't require removing the long bolt because I HATE those RB sway bar blocks.
Lower pivot bolt is a 2 person method, let's just say that.
Fronts old vs. new.

Ride height might need to be tweaked.

Initial drive around town, I immediately notice how more supple and less crashy the ride is over rough roads.
Another project was getting my roll bar bolted down.
The previous owner had the roll bar installed on top of some sound deadening material which I figured raise the roll bar up about a quarter of an inch or so. I needed to get it lower so it would stop rubbing on the hard top. After scrubbing the material out of there this is the gap I had left.

I was concerned about that gap but once I started bolting everything down it cinched right up.

Thanks guys. I'm hoping to get word it's finished and will take, around 6 days for shipping due to MS builder Reverant/Dimitris being in Greece.

Martin, your not far off though. I wish my wrenching skills didn't suck so bad.

Are you already rolled? I would recommend doing so before your next serious motorsport outing. Those front fenders are in good shape.

Good call. The rears are mildly rolled and the front are not, only had gun to the fender liner. Aggressive Street driving has been ok but I did find a small area on the front must have caught the fender lip in passenger side.
Rent from local auto parts store, heat gun to the fenders first?

Someone told me Oreilly's rented them, called and you're right. They don't, would you be willing to bring yours up on Thursday to the meet?

Took some fun time to drive around Portland and visit Sidedraught City and meet Neil. Stormin Norman talked about this place for good Griot's detailing products.

Picked up a couple things, Machine polish no.2 is what he recommended for the 1990 single stage white paint. I also picked up something I have been looking for worn, not used.
Necksgen neck restraint piece.

Neil apparently shares a builiding with a custom upholstery shop next door. The guy invited me to look around, things you stumble upon.

Supercharged Studebaker?

Josh, we have to diagnose that squeak/creak! I think because I have no idea what it is makes it more annoying.

It's not suspension, spring and shock assembly, I think we've ruled that out. Most noticeably when I leave from a full stop. Rear droops a bit and errrrrrckkk. I've stood in the trunk and bounced the car up and down and it doesn't do it.
Diff mounts are poly, I've tried to get up in there and spray some lithium grease but I don't really see that getting into the mounts. Over really rough and slow PDX east side roads (some RR crossings) today it was creaking.
Should we drill and zerk those mounts? What else could it be?

Also, MCS are really nice. I didn't pinch up once going over expansion joints or manhole covers. Can't wait for NASA next weekend. I need tire pressure recommendations. Am I remembering that right that 949 starts at 26psi cold for 225/4515 RS3s?

Something about a white na always makes me lust for one.

And then you go and post that engine pic and make me feel terrible for how bad my spare engine looks. Looking forward to how the install and tuning turns out.

Brain and spine safety.
Bell M04 Helmet
Necksgen Head/Neck restraint.
I've used a Hans twice and it was fine. This should be similar, supposedly more comfortable because of the lower helmet contact point. When you're driving, you'll never think about either of them.

I just bought my second set of 225 RS3's today and can hardly wait to see the discernible difference between these and first gen RS3s which I absolutely loved! I wanna step up to some 9" wheels someday, if I don't get 14" RPF1's. Look forward to the motor install and results! May be showing my ignorance but what/who is MCS? Stateside manufacturer or?
