Talking The Miata Limo Sedan Thingamahjiggy

Well might as well start this now.

Story is this thing popped up on craigslist months ago in San Diego with a rough price the owner wanted was in the $5000 range. I called as soon as I was tagged in a post and saw the internet blow up about the pile of wtf that was a miata. After trying to get it for 3000 and no luck I went on with life as I didn't think anyone would spend the money and was waiting for a realistic price... Kept bugging the owner every so often with more lower offers and letting him know I was the right buyer for the car. Still no go.

Months later He finally was asking if I was still interested at $3000. At the time I had no money so lowballed at $2000 and he didn't wanna drop again. So waiting game again. 2 weeks later a call comes in and I guess his taxes were due and needed the money and told me I could have it for $1500. Grabbed the trailer and hit the gas to SD!!!!

Few hours later we showed up and took it around the block. Thing drove like a stock miata! Everything basically worked but the lights but the tombstone wasn't connected. Loaded that shit on the trailer and history was made.

Next day I looked over the car a bit. Snapped a better pic

After looking over the car the deal seemed even better.

Car had Koni's, with whatever springs(red) all around
RB Sways
RB Muffler
Koyo Alum rad

Sweeeeeet. Drove it around a bit. Fell in love.

Ran to DMV after a pass at the smog station.

After a vin inspection only I was given the green light to register the car. Wow that was easy!

Then Drew and Caitlin from OMGDrift came to town and we did some things. The first test of a full car. Didn't snap in half!!

And that concluded that. Late night. Will keep updating as I go.

Well so far ive lowered it further. Diy airbox sound mod, autokonexion flares, 15x9 0 Traklite Holeshots, 225/45/15 Hankook RS3, Lowes sideskirts, front tougerun lip, rear R under lip, and just gutted the interior for rollbars if I decide I like the look.

Skip ahead

I'm curious, any chance you've gotten it on a scale? It's proportions are so strange. I wonder what it weigh's in at now?

So after the car came as is, seemed like it was time to do the typical stuff.

First was the tougerun front lip I had laying around. Also had been waiting on some Autokonexion flares I got 2nd hand. Needed to go along with the 15x9 0 Traklite holeshots. I'm a fan of meaty tire flush so knew I wanted to run the 225/45/15 RS-3 which I happened to have left from a year ago FD season. Did a test

Then actual mounted everything

Perfect.

Then picked up the hard plastic Lowes baseboards for sideskirts and self tapper'd them in. At the time painted the lower rocker like factory along with the skirts

Just a cool pic from our video we shot with LorenInHD

And the Video

Just installed a rear R package lip. Loving the look.

Been driving the car around. Waiting on the carpets to arrive to finish up the interior.

Last night I did a thing.

Don't know yet If I'll go with a rollbar/s or not. I really want to run and Bikini top in the hot months. Only way is a rollbar. The longer term is to get on track and make some videos as well so kinda need it there as well. So while I'm here i'm going to plate some areas and hopefully tighten it all up a bit. Want to mske sure she stsys solid for many years to come and knowing how it was built is nice too.

Frame rails might be a good idea if that hasn't already been done.

Well at that point, just go to your local metal yard and buy strap and weld it yourself and save the cash! I don't think you are quite worried about weight savings in a miata that added two seats and 3 feet of wheel base, so the lightening holes probably don't matter too much.

i feel like you could just run steel trussing up and don the frame rails and weld it for a better solution to the frame rails.

looking forward to this and hektik skids.
