What sucked is that I only got something like 4 laps in the one session that I did without a passenger in the car, had some traffic and barely got 1 or 2 laps to go quick.
I haven't driven CCW in a while too. Oh well, next time Moti |

Took the wife out for a ride around SOW
![]() ![]() Patrick Vidal photo, thanks! Note grill blockers, these are new - a bit narrower than the previous set. Temps were stable throughout the day at near 100 degrees heat. Moti |

Accuweather says it'll be 106*, but I found that with the open cockpit, as soon as you start moving there's enough airflow to keep me comfortable even at these temps.

As I see it, the only benefit that having the windshield on the car gives you is the ability to stick the top back on if you're looking to do some track time in the rain.
Any other time, I'd go windshield-less all the way! Moti |

It looks like your grill blockers end with a sharp edge. If you actually created a properly radiused end that ran back to the radiator, you could probably go even narrower...

Maybe in theory, creating a venturi effect... in reality, it was 108ş ambient temp and 118ş on track at ACS yesterday and I had to take the grill blockers off the car altogether to avoid over heating.
By the time I got up to speed in the third session the needle on the temp gauge started creeping up so I backed off and went in early. For the fourth session I took the blockers off and dialed out the oversteer (thank you FCM for the awesome coilovers!) and proceeded to clock 2:05's the entire session. Ended up with a best of 2:05.040 in this brutal heat, not dazzling fast or anything, but I'm pretty happy with it given the tempertures and since it was my first time driving this track. Moti |

Man, that's hot.
I normally take a break from tracking during the summer months because of the heat. However, it is cool to see dedicated folks like yourself willing to brave the elements. ![]() Mike |

![]() And a motorhome? Haha, I normally camp in a tent when I do multiple days events.. no RV here. Heat issues aside, I've been working on NASA classing for Creampuff, trying to join the Performance Touring crowd. Since Creampuff was built as a demo car some of the choices that were made along the way make it less than ideal as a PT race car, it'll be an excellent start as a Super Touring car (for ST2) but an ST build will also cost a small fortune to do right. Anyways, I'll update when the details will be solidified. Moti |

Haven't updated in a little while but Creampuff is in a fairly disassembled state, getting the interior sorted out, an onboard fire system, additional seam welding and more.
My camera is dead otherwise I'd post pics... need to buy a new camera ![]() Moti |

The tunnel was stitched before, but this round I'm cleaning everything up, stripping most of the interior and will give it a nice fresh coat of paint to finish it off. Then it's all about reassembly and getting it ready for round 7 of the Miata Challenge ![]() Moti |

I think I'll be joining you guys at MC this month.
Moti, are there additional benefits to welding the tub with the cage already in? |

We will find out shortly, won't we?
But yes, seam welding is a mod with no downsides, not to mention that you can reinforce areas that cage doesn't get to. Moti |
