Default A few dumb ECU questions

So apparently, the ECU went bad in my car. According to the shop I took it to, they said that when the car warms up circuit 103 goes bad, and when it cools off everything goes back to normal. The shop wants over $700 to fix this, including labor and a remanufactured ECU with a lifetime warranty. Now my questions are is this worth it (I highly doubt it), or should I just buy an ECU and replace it myself? I tried a bunch of Googling but I just get a bunch of links to aftermarket stuff. :/

Thanks guys.

ECU's are dirt cheap. Go on ebay and pick one up used for your year and tranny, plug and play

Yeah, parts should be like $50-60. Simple fix. Pull off the kick panel underneath the passenger side carpet, three nuts to take the ecu out, a handful of screws to attach the new ECU to the brackets. 5 minutes. Grab one on ebay.
