Re: SOCAL Rambling thread

smog system sucks. lots of awesome roads. horrible traffic except around noon (maybe) and after 8PM.

i've heard police are really harsh around irvine for modified cars.

949, project-g, blackbird fabworx, and a bunch of other miata-familiar businesses are within driving distance. that's all that my tired self can think of right now

For sure. You'll fit in fine.

Also, the taxes are high here too.

Re: SOCAL Rambling thread

Where you move to will depend on where you find work of course. A lot of people live in Riverside and the Inland Empire and commute to Orange County every day because that's where the good jobs are. Long awful commute with tons of traffic, but people do it.

Smog sucks, but there are ways around it.

Re: SOCAL Rambling thread

I want to move to California. I want to do Miata Challenge and build a car for Supermiata so I can get my feet wet with non SCCA w2w racing. I want to go to KINOD meets and blast through canyons. Texas is essentially flat backroads, rarely offering more than sweepers that you would have to be at triple digit speeds to link up.
Issue is, I know nothing about California or SoCal as far as where I should aim to move to be around the things I want to be around. I also have this presumption that I'm going to hate Smog quite a bit.
Tell me about things.

I'm pretty sure this is the seat I've been using in my miata HAHAHA. I bought it from member "Conundrum" on here.

Re: SOCAL Rambling thread

Where do all of you get your hardtops painted? OR if you do it yourself, where do you get factory-coded paint?

I'm sort of tired of my Miata looking like a police car

I've seen that poor G around. Some middle age guy with whitening hair drives it like its the shit. Hey whatever floats your boat. He sometimes makes an appearance at Cars and Coffee in Irvine on Saturdays.
