Re: A guide to [fender] flares...

I'm going to roll the shit out of my fenders and fuck them all up, then I'll put these on when they get here

Slightly off topic and not a Miata, but we're using NRG fender washers on our Rocket Bunny build

Interesting! I'll definitely look into that. You just tapped the sheet metal and that was it?

AK did my AKV2 install and used metric button head Allen bolts. M4x1.0, tapped right into the (cut) fender.

The rears remind me of the rocket bunny flares on the fr-s. Is there a particular reason why the flares stop? Is it because it meets the bumper?

Re: A guide to [fender] flares...

Has anyone done the AK NA version 1 flares on an NB?
I like the more aggressive 40mm flare, and the flares they offer for the NB look much smaller.

Re: A guide to [fender] flares...

Yes because you can fit that setup on the stock body. Roll your fenders instead of chopping them off.

Re: A guide to [fender] flares...

Hey guys, would AK flares look silly on an NB with 15x8+25 wheels?

Not many people seem to buy them from what I can tell. I love them personally I find it odd its not more popular.

It's probably a price issue. As long as autokonexion flares are the cheapest (albeit the ugliest) option not a lot of people will buy other flares.

Re: A guide to [fender] flares...

i guess you could do that yourself by just cutting the fender shorter..its looks like the cheaper fender route is a zg flare or vw mk2 both about $60 I will post up whichever direction i end up going..

Re: A guide to [fender] flares...

Im getting ready to install my ak v1s and im wondering exactly HOW rivnuts are being used for this. Are yall putting them through the flare and fender then tightening the rivnut? Or are you installing them in the sheet metal first then bolting the flare on using the rivnut's threads?

Re: A guide to [fender] flares...

Ever since I saw the JPS styled na and Chris lee's na a few years back I knew I wanted flares. To answer your question, no I do not regret it at all

Re: A guide to [fender] flares...

I picked up a set of flairs and am 2nd guessing putting them on or not. You can't buy street tires wide enough to justify more than 8" or 9" wheels and I don't want it to look like a skate board sticking the wheels out for no reason. You guys with flairs any regrets to cutting the fenders and putting on flairs?
